Nurturing the mummy to be

Pregnancy or prenatal massage shares the same goals and benefits of regular massage however the treatment is more tailored to the needs of the pregnant women.  Suitable from 12 weeks to full term this massage is performed in a side lying position with plenty of pillows for support and comfort .

In many cultures pregnancy is perceived as a rite of passage as the mother goes through immense changes physically, emotionally, hormonally and psychically.  Receiving regular massage throughout this time can help mothers integrate with these experiences.  As a therapist it is a great honor to work with women during this stage of their life.

Pregnancy massage is a peaceful treatment which allows mum to relax and thus reduce the impact of stress on her body.  It works deeply to relieve the aches and pains that accompany a changing body and the resulting postural distortions.  Although many women welcome a massage towards the end of their pregnancy, the real benefits lie in having regular massage throughout.

This treatment can be enjoyed as a 45min /1 hour massage although a 75/90min session gives mum some much needed 'me time' and allows more time to achieve total mind/body relaxation

A pregnancy massage may be mixed and matched (with caution) with any of the other treatments I offer in order to create a personalised treatment based on your needs.  Prices and Availability
