Calms the mind and releases the body of tension

Swedish massage is probably the best known type of massage in the west and If you’re new to massage then Swedish is a good introduction.

Based on Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work on meridian and sen lines more commonly associated with Eastern massage modalities; Swedish massage involves 7 basic ‘strokes’ which are the cornerstone to all other types of western massage such as deep tissue, sports, clinical and aromatherapy.

It is the combination of all or just some of these ‘strokes’ that when applied in a fluid, rhythmical way with varying degrees of pressure and tempo (adapted to preference) aims to lull the whole being into relaxation, calms the mind, soothes the soul and release the body of tension, aches and pains.

Regular Swedish massage when incorporated into a healthy lifestyle is hugely beneficial to our overall health and well being.  It is also a great preventative treatment in that it keeps the muscles/soft tissues healthy, and so less prone to injury; as well as being a valuable tool in managing stress and keeping us feeling on top emotionally.

This treatment can be enjoyed as a 45min full back, neck and shoulder massage or as a 1 hour full body although a 75/90min session allows more time to work the muscle tissue and achieve total mind/body relaxation.

A Swedish session may be mixed and matched with any of the other treatments I offer in order to create a personalised treatment based on your needs.  Prices and Availability
